Well I finally made the decision to take the plunge and move over to a self-hosted blog. Now that my computer is back up and running (thank you God), I’ve gotten the site up and running and all my posts from here moved over there. I’ve still got some tweaks to make, but I wanted to go ahead and make the post to direct everybody over to the new site.
I made the decision to switch because regardless of whether I wind up going with my pen name Kait Nolan or if I decide to publish under my real name, I do know the niche I’m aiming for: romantic suspense set in Mississippi. As such, my writing is all about murder and magnolias, so to speak. So I’m going to go ahead and start branding myself for my future success. It seemed wise to do so before I have a huge following, so that I have time to grow it as I finish my various WIPS and begin to shop them. Plus there are SO many fantastic options available with self-hosting that you simply don’t have with the free version. I am totally in love with plugins!
Anyway, there’s more to come at the new blog, but I’ve got the base stuff up. So come visit me over at Murder & Magnolias. I’ve set up a feed over there for anyone who is subscribed here.
