Sunday Summary and #ROW80 Update

  1. I am happy to report that Daisy galloped up the hill in the back yard this morning!  She doesn’t so much gallop since the stroke…more a happy fast trot with a swing in her hips that totally goes to the rhythm of Milkshake by Kelis.  And not that lately.  So somebody is feeling BETTER.  I am RELIEEEEEEEEEVED!
  2. The weather is positively GORGEOUS this morning.  A bit later this afternoon, I want to open all the windows (didn’t get to that part yesterday) to the sunshine.
  3. I was all zoom zoom ZOOM from 7-4 yesterday, rearranging furniture to accommodate some new stuff inherited from various family members, cleaning maybe 3/4ths of The Things, and rearranging the library into a new set up that will, I think, work better.   Then I made the mistake of SITTING DOWN when my mom called and totally lost my momentum.  So after that I went on to Walmart for the grocery shopping (got caught by a funeral procession for 20 minutes and had to just sit at a crossroads waiting for half the county to go by), and then I was done for the day.  We still have to finish the last of the cleaning today.  Mostly floors (I was out of wood floor cleaner yesterday) and laundry and the master bath.  Then we’re DONE and officially DUG OUT AND DEEP CLEANED!  WOO!
  4. We’re starting a series of low carb dinners for hubby this week, so I need to do some menu planning for that.  I’ve got a giant pile of cooking magazines from the last couple of months that I’d like to go through.  As a longer term project, I would like to go through all of my piles of cooking magazines and see if I can track down online versions of all the recipes I want to keep–and then donate the magazines themselves to the library.  Because I have, um, a lot of them.  A lot, a lot.
  5. I had 4 good writing days this week where I passed my 600 words minimum.  Only 2704 for the week, but I didn’t write on my birthday since I wasn’t home, and I didn’t write yesterday due to the mass spring cleaning.  And I’m totally okay with that.  It all NEEDED DOING and I feel so much better for having gotten it done.  I’m hoping to get some writing in today to launch the week properly.

  1. That’s so great about Daisy! I know you feel so much better. And you have a really upbeat sound to your voice. I’m going to try to get back to cleaning house by using the Flylady’s system. It’s time for me to get that deep cleaning done, too.

Okay, I’m off to read my new copy of Fine Cooking magazine now that you’ve reminded me.

  2. How wonderful about Daisy! I have a 16-year-old cat that I keep checking to make sure he’s still okay.

Good word count for the week. And I wish you would come do my meal planning…and my cooking. That is so not my thing! Have a wonderful week, Kait!

  3. We have a huge German Shepherd and he’s getting ‘snipped’ in a week, that’ll be him in a cone feeling sorry for himself for 6 weeks afterward – and me feeling very sad for him. It’s so awful when are furry friends are poorly. Great news about Daisy. I could do with those low-carb meal plans too – soya bread is about as low carb as I get 😀 Great going on the word-count and cleaning too – go you! X
