Sunday Summary and #ROW80 Check-In

  1. I have not gotten as much done as I wanted.  My husband has been out of town since Friday, and I had grand intentions of writing my butt off this weekend, knocking out at least half of what I lack on TGMTY.  Yeah…that didn’t happen.  I woke up Thursday morning with a Very Bad Feeling about the scene I had written and what I had planned for the resolution of the relationship arc, so I decided it would be prudent to do a read through the first three acts before I went any further.  This ended up being a great thing, as I figured out what to do to fix the Very Bad Feeling.  It meant I lost 2500 of the words I wrote this week and the 2 days it took me to read.  I also executed a few changes for consistency and continuity, and otherwise finished out the Black Period.  And that was as far as I got.  Largely, this is because most of Saturday was spent yelling and screaming for the second weekend of Football Armageddon in a row.  It’s really hard to write a love scene when you’re stopping every 5 seconds to cheer that that penalty was against the other guys or one of ours picked up a fumble and ran it in for a touchdown.  I can’t get too upset about it because…
  2. Mississippi State is number 1 in the nation for the first time EVAR (and Ole Miss is holding steady at number 3).  Hail State!  Hotty Toddy!
  3. We had a big storm here this afternoon.  I looked outside just in time to see the neighbor’s trampoline flying down the street.  No damage to our stuff other than a little scraping along our fence when the trampoline lifted off.
  4. I’ve got two and a half hours until bed, and I could write, but I think I’m going to refill the well instead.  My brain needs the chance to reset after finishing out the Black Period.  I’m still running somewhat ahead of schedule and should, at the very least, finish by the end of this month as I originally anticipated.

  1. Always a great feeling to solve a major problem and move forward. Sometimes even tho we don’t meet the goal we set, we achieve a better one. Sounds like refilling the well is what we all need to do once in a while. All the best in the weeks ahead.

  2. I know you’re very proud of your state’s two teams. My husband and I were just talking about how this has never happened. Tennessee, on the other hand, is not doing so well. 🙁

I know how writing plans can be affected. I was planning on doing lots of writing Friday night, but then I got to keep the granddaughter. That comes way before writing for me. 🙂

At least you got some things worked out in the story. That’s progress.
