Daily Progress Report

Well I didn’t get actual words written, but I did get a great deal of plotting done.  I’m working on plotting out specifics of each scene and I’ve gone from the beginning, the backstory, the start of Rowan’s new life in WITSEC, the couple of months she works the shit job, the start of the new job, the foundation for introducing the hero and the subplot, and the first evidence of her stalker.  13 scenes detailed all together, which I’m quite pleased about.  I’ve been thinking a lot about the story lately, just not in terms of getting actual prose down.  So I’ll go with it and continue to plot and call it a good day.

  1. Sounds like a good weekend progress wise. I had planned on working on a short story I started on Friday…didn’t get to do that. I should have also worked on my novel in progress but didn’t…have been trying to figure out some scenes, etc. in my mind though. I think I need to be more focused and just actually sit and write. I seem to go in fits and spurts with my writing where I write for a couple of days and then I don’t…not a good system if I’d like to finish a novel some time this decade, lol.

  2. I finally had to apply behavioral modification theory to myself to get started with a system that works for me. I’ve been out of the habit for a couple of months, and I’m working on getting back into it, but prior to my hiatus, I was consistently writing 1,000 words a day. They weren’t always GOOD words, but they were words and progress, and it got me in the habit of writing daily, which is necessary, I think, for any serious writer. A lot easier said than done though!
