Happy Tuesday To Me

I’m sure my husband was alarmed at the pre-caffeine squee this morning, but I woke up to find out that I had sold eight copies of Forsaken By Shadow overnight, pushing me past last month’s total of 59 to 61 (62 since I started eating breakfast) in one week.

Then I saw this:

I just might make it under 1,000 overall this month.

If this sales trend continues, I should have earned enough by the end of the month to pay for my copyright and cover art, which is an earlier estimate than I expected.  I figured it would be end of summer before I entered profit territory.

So that’s a big yay and a great way to start my day.

Also on the yay, my super fabulous cover artist, Brenna Dunlavy, is designing me a new blog header that will better fit the look and feel of the series I’m creating.  Then my superfab web designer Christine of CYH Associates, who redid my layout for Pots and Plots is going to design a layout for here around it.  I’m very excited.  I know it’s kinda weird to have one of them doing one part and the other doing the other, but Christine has just moved and is uber busy just now and Brenna’s graduated and looking for work–so anybody needing a freelance graphic designer, check her out!

  1. Yay for you! I’m a constant “stat checker” myself. When Zoe e-mailed me this morning and asked if I knew Club Blood was #565, I thought I would wet my pants!

I can’t wait until your next book comes out. I loved Forsaken by Shadow. You’re a great writer. I have a feeling your book sales will keep going up, and when you release the next book, it will probably also boost the sales of the first one. It also helps to comment on other people’s blogs, especially popular ones, so they will be aware of you. That’s how I found you. LOL

I kind of hate that you’re changing your blog header. I really like it. But I understand that you want it to match what you are writing. I can’t wait to see what the designer comes up with.

    1. Aw, thanks!

I’m looking forward to getting Revelation out, but that’s a LOOOOOONG way off. It’ll be probably October before the first draft is done, then revisions… And I have a course I need to get off my butt to design for work, so… Lots going on this year. I’m trying to be patient and just do as good a job as I can. It will be out when it’s out. 🙂

  2. Congrats! If Revelation is a novella as well, make sure you charge a little more. I would have paid more especially now after seeing how well-written you are.

    1. Actually Revelation was SUPPOSED to be a novella, but it’s turned into a full blown novel. 🙂 Hence the much delayed end of year release. I think…

But see that was the entire point of having a cheap opening volley with FBS…nobody’d heard of me, so I was a low risk.

    1. Ha! Good. I don’t want to wind up being one of those annoying people who irritates people by talking about it all the time. My crit partners have to listen to it but I try to refrain from excessive squee except for what feels like really big stuff… 😀
