Saturday Sloth

Y’all it’s 2 o’clock in the afternoon and I’m still in my jammies.  I’ve been parked on the sofa since 9:30 watching DIY renovations of kitchens and having house envy.  It’s also inspired me to go ahead and buy the embossed tile wallpaper for my kitchen backsplash project.  $30 for the wallpaper.  I’ll still have to buy the paint and clear coat, but it’s such a narrow band, that I’ll be able to do it with a quart of each, so that shouldn’t be bad either.  It’s a project I have wanted to do since we moved in but never got around to.  Since our football team is mostly having a lousy season, I think we can give up on the notion that anybody is going to buy the house this fall as a Bulldog weekend house, so I might as well do it now.  Maybe I’ll even get motivated to do that mirror surround in the bathroom which I already have the materials for (and have since we moved in).

This afternoon I’m helping hubs with a paper and doing some blueprint work.  I had a character arc breakthrough with my kitchen witch and I think, have finally figured out how to reconcile the notion of a kitchen witch with ass kickage.  Bonus!  And somewhere in there, I’ve got to exercise to earn back some calories for supper since the chili I made for lunch was 1200 calories with the sour cream, cheese, and Fritos Scoops.  O.O  Um, yeah.  Big splurge.  And it was damned tasty.

What are you up to with your Saturday?

  1. I love lazy Saturdays. Today, my son’s sick. So we’re all just hanging out watching movies. It’s pretty nice (except for my little guy being sick, of course :D).

I love those DIY shows too. Always inspire me to do something. I haven’t tried any projects yet though. Eventually, I want to learn how to retile a countertop and a floor. Those would be great skills to have.

  2. I made chili, too (Thursday), and I always eat it with Fritos instead of crackers. 🙂 Chili is one of the things I can make well.

I went to a friend’s birthday party at Provino’s today. Mmmmm. Lasagna! But I did a little lazing around before that. LOL

That kitchen project sounds like something that will look really good! And the bathroom mirror thing sounds cool, too. I bet you’ll be really pleased with the results when you get it done.

I’m glad you’re thinking about the kitchen witch series. I’ve always thought those would be great stories!

  3. I went to a medieval festival and flirted with men who make bows and arrows. And stroked a fox, a rabbit and a rather large eagle. A huge eagle, in fact, although she was only a baby, just a year old… And then we all sulked a bit because the mead people hadn’t shown up. But in general, it was great!
