Lucky 7: Lines From The 7th Page

So I got tagged by Susan for a fun little writer’s meme.  As it is Saturday and I’m uncaffeinated still, I thought it was a good idea for a post.  So here be da rules:

  1. Go to page 7 or 77 in your current manuscript
  2. Go to line 7
  3. Copy down the next seven lines as they are – no cheating
  4. Tag 7 other authors

From page 7 of DOTH:

“So does this mean she gets the job?” asked Cricket.  Ever the diplomat.

“It does,” Gil nodded soberly.  “I reckon we’ll get started tomorrow.”

Relief flooded through me, weakening my knees.  I’d done it.  I draped an arm around Guin’s neck and pressed a kiss to her nose.  We’d done it.  Now I let the grin burst forth, so wide it all but split my face.

Gil swung a companionable arm around my shoulders.  “C’mon kid, let’s get Guin unsuited.  Your mama’s got a feast laid out on the picnic tables by the trailers.”  He looked over at my friends.

Guin is a horse, btw.

So who can I tag….

  1. Michelle Muto
  2. G. L. Drummond
  3. Claire Legrand
  4. Jessica Corra
  5. Anne Mhairi Simpson
  6. Lauren Garafalo
  7. J. L. Bryan

And hey, if you’re a writer and you want to jump in, DO!  This kind of thing is fun!

  1. Okay, you and Carrie have both tagged me, so guess I’d better dig something up.

On your excerpt: it’s kind of hard to have an arm around a horse’s neck and kiss their nose, unless the horse has turned its head (I was actually working on neck flexibility with my horse yesterday, LOL). 😉

      1. It’s actually pretty do-able if you have an arm over their withers or just behind them, and they turn their head/bend their neck. I’ve given Shug kisses on the nose like that, when she’s loose and we’re talking stuff over. 😉
