Midweek Update and #Daisywatch

**Edited to include video**

First, the good news.

This morning Daisy STOOD UP ON HER OWN AND TOOK THREE STEPS!  Huzzah!

Ahem.  In more regular news, I have been kicking word count butt.  Sunday: 1042, Monday: 885, Tuesday: 1705.  I am within 1600 words of my 10k goal for the month and I’ve got today and tomorrow to do it.

After that is DFW Con, and as soon as I get back from that, we’re moving. Even I’m not nuts enough to think that I’ll be able to get any writing done during that span of craziness.

So, the plan is to finish the midpoint scene in DOTH, flesh out a few earlier things I decided needed to be added, then set it aside for the next couple of weeks.  After that, I’ll come back, do a read through and dive back into the second half in my new office/library, where I hope to be able to get back into my 15-20k a month routine.

Whee!

  1. I think I’m happier about Daisy than about you kicking word butt. I’m very happy about that, too. Enjoy yourself next week, and I hope the move goes off without a hitch.

  2. Three cheers for Daisy! Seriously. That’s very awesome!

Awesome job on your word counts! 15-20k a month sounds doable with those numbers. I’m cheering for you!

  3. I’m so happy for Daisy! YAY!!!! It’s so great to hear she is making progress (and you too on the writing front!) Have a great time at the conference!

  4. Oh! Moving? I shudder at the thought. lol. All that sorting through…packing…unpacking. I’d have to hire movers. The bright side is that you can toss all the accumulated junk that has hidden away in closets and drawers. :} Neat closets and organized (for a time) drawers…here you come!

  5. HUZZAH Indeed!! Yay Daisy! And awesome word counts! I wish I could consistently have days that good. Have fun at the conference and good luck with the move. Here’s hoping it doesn’t stress Daisy (or you!) out too much.

    1. This would be move number…6 for her. It’s Callie’s first. I think she’d be a lot more stressed out if she could move around freely and see the chaos more than just the living room and bedroom where she’s been hanging out.

  6. Yay for Daisy! Such a good girl she is. 😉
Yay for Kait! Awesome on your word count.
Good luck with your move but have a bundle of fun at DFW Conf.

  7. YAY DAISY!!!!

I thought that deserved extra exclamation. 😉

Once your office/library is sorted out, will there be pics? 🙂

    1. LOL, eventually. I have some projects related to that room and it’ll be a while before I get to them, so not sure what it’s going to look like in the interim. I want to have built in book cases made, and it’ll be a long time before we can afford it. I don’t have anywhere NEAR enough freestanding bookcases to house the 40 boxes of books I have…

  8. Hurray for Daisy! So, so happy to hear this! Yay!

And awesome work on the word count, too. 🙂 I’m really glad to see that you are adjusting your writing around the crazy-hectic time coming up. It’s a great reminder to me (and probably others) that this is the smart thing to do.

Have fun at the Con, and may the move go as easily as that sort of thing can.
