T Minus 2 Days

So yesterday went better.  I finished painting the library and the gym room, as well as the laundry room (which wasn’t even on the list to get done before we move but I decided to do because it was easier than painting around the washer and dryer), and I hauled over almost everything from the closets and got them set up.  Let me just say, these closets are not made for short people.  I need a stool to reach the top bar.  I essentially caught up to where I’d intended to be by yesterday afternoon.  Still have the hall linen closet to go.  I also got my new curtains hung in the library.  My mom gave me these gorgeous embroidered curtains that I haven’t been able to use before because I’ve never had more than 8 foot ceilings.  They’re PERFECT in this house.

Today’s plan is to move the kitchen.  I’m also swinging by Lowes to pick up another gallon of paint.  I have a gallon of the guest bath paint, which is the same color as the entryway and our bedroom but the wrong finish (eggshell instead of flat).  So I’m picking up a gallon of that in order to touch up the spots that need it in the bedroom and the entryway.  That leaves the kitchen, hubby’s office, and the guest room that will need painting.  I figure we can get all of those done over a couple of weekends down the line after everything is PUT AWAY.

The closing on the current house is at 8:30 in the morning, and the closing on the new house is at 1:30 in the afternoon, so we’ll have the afternoon and evening to move stuff.  We decided we’ll go ahead and take the bedroom stuff over and sleep there tomorrow night.  And then, THE REAL WORK BEGINS.

  1. I love the fact you are almost in your new digs Kait, it sounds like so far the house is shaping up nicely and lucky you to be able to paint before moving in. So much easier than once the house is furnished and has pets in it.
