I’m taking a lazy morning today, comp time since I didn’t get home from work until 10 last night. It was a long day, but not a bad one, and between meetings my coworker and I did a little bit of shopping wherein I scored a truly excellent new hat and a few new tops for work. One of them actually had a PATTERN ON IT and one was a color not red, black, brown, or purple (my mom is passing out with shock from this fact about now–I even TRIED ON a pink one–I’m living dangerously, Mom). I love Ross. The store, not Geller.
I’m feeling better finally, the gut rot (great term, Alberta!) having passed and my ear infection totally on the mend. Knock on wood that I’m done with illness and funk. I’d like to be on even keel for a while and get some energy back for assorted projects around the house, like painting and installing the new closet doors in the man cave and guest room, painting both those rooms, and painting the kitchen. My goal is to have those all done before Christmas. And then there’s weeding and mulching all the flower beds, reorganizing the attic and…yeah it becomes a long list. There’s always something. Currently I’m hoping to fund a new end of the season patio set with sales of hubby’s college textbooks and some of the stuff we don’t need anymore.
I’m still plowing my way through the Lucky Harbor series. Halfway through the third book. Then I’m going to take a side trip and visit with Shannon Stacey’s Kowalski family. It’s all good, happy, low key reading that’s definitely helping me work out some of the details with my plot bunnies and entertaining me to boot. Win win.
Wow, I’m totally boring this morning. Off to clean up and get to work.
