Book Birthdays: The Cavendish Home For Boys and Girls and Defiance

I must wish a couple of very HAPPY RELEASE DAYS to two marvelous debut author friends of mine.

First up my soul sister Claire Legrand’s super creepy, super awesome debut:

I read this book when she first wrote it (privileges of being CP) and it is FABULOUS!  Look at that marvelously illustrated cover by Sarah Watts.  It’s gorgeous.  It’s technically a middle grade title, but perfectly entertaining for older crowds.  GO FORTH AND BUY IT AT ONCE!

I have not yet had the privilege of reading this marvelous YA by C.J. Redwine, though I started it on my exercise bike this morning and am very annoyed at this thing called A JOB that is keeping me from finding out WHAT HAPPENS NEXT.  Doesn’t it have an amazing cover?  I want her hair.  And her cloak.  And her kick ass boots.   Because, really, cloaks and kick ass boots are seriously underutilized in modern fashion.  BUY IT!  You won’t regret it!

  1. I have fully intended to buy Cavendish, just waiting for the release. But now, with Defiance, you’ve given me another book to consider. That is one gorgeous cover.

Those jobs have a nasty habit of getting in the way of what we really want to do!
