So apparently no one felt like making book recommendations, as I received nary a single entry in my Book and a Cuppa Contest. Perhaps they were too busy or haven’t read anything awesome lately. So much for that.
It’s Monday and I’m exhausted. This is not a particularly great thing to be on a Monday. Especially not as I am up to my eyeballs in grant stuff. We’ve got an epic one to write by end of February, and my eyes are already crossing at reading the example one that got funded. So I’m having dreams of a ginormous, cushy couch, in front of a roaring fire, with snow outside the windows and hot chocolate–hey, here’s an idea…s’mores hot chocolate. Regular hot chocolate, topped with marshmallows and graham cracker crumbs. It could totally be a thing. :makes note to try this: Also, S’mores Dip. You know you want it. Instead, I’m about to make a cup of chamomile tea. This is likely to hasten my falling asleep and drooling on my keyboard, but I just really want some. At least I have a door that locks.
Have received news of life stuff that will blow my production schedule completely off the rails the rest of this year. Which is why I really want the chamomile tea. It’s been…a not great week. Since I can’t crawl into bed and lock out the world, I turn to the restorative powers of my afternoon cuppa. What’s your favorite legal, non-addictive form of stress relief?
This kind of stuff is always a challenge for me–finding a way to get back into the story, back into the groove of the work when my brain is occupied by EDJ or whatever thing is demanding my attention. I used to be much better about compartmentalizing. There wasn’t as much to compartmentalize back then. Methinks there is a connection.
Sorry I’m so meh today, y’all.
