Sunday Summary, #ROW80 and G.I.T.

  1. So the world was supposed to end yesterday.  Hubby requested nachos for his last meal and we went to see Pirates 4.  All in all a good last day.  Except here I am this morning and the only zombie shuffling around is me because I’ve been awake since 6:45 when Callie wanted breakfast.  SO WRONG to be awake this early on a weekend.  More tea please.
  2. Regarding Operation G.I.T., I am down 4.8 pounds!  Or was, before the end of the world nachos.  They might’ve set me back a little.  I’m not checking for a couple of days.  Either way I’m finally seeing some steady progress, which is a great big YAY!
  3. Despite said progress, I lost my last two pair of OLD jeans this past week.  That makes 6 pair that have essentially split from the inside butt corner pocket, down the length of the fabric from that corner.  In FOUR MONTHS.  The four pair of old jeans I get.  They have been washed a million times, as jeans are practically all I wear.  But the new jeans?  Dude, my butt is supposed to be SHRINKING.  This is frustrating to say the least.  So for now, I am holding off on buying any replacement jeans until fall, when I will suck it up and actually buy the nicer jeans that hopefully are made of better fabric (and will maybe be in the next size down).
  4. I have come to the conclusion, that even when I get back to last year’s low, I will be shaped differently than I was then.  This isn’t really all that weird, as I’m using different exercises to lose the weight.  Yoga is really reshaping things.  Speaking of, I will be going back to doing it in the mornings.  Last week I was on a biking/boxing kick in the morning, with the intention of doing yoga after work to relax.  Um yeah, no.  I walked in and wrote my tushy off after work all last week.  No yoga.  I’ve established a very clear precedent that I simply WILL NOT WORK OUT after work.  Usually at that point I’ve already burned somewhere between 350-500 calories.  I don’t have any inclination to do more.
  5. All is definitely NOT QUIET on the writing front.   I kicked so much word count butt this week, it’s not even funny.   Nothing last Sunday, Monday: 2181, Tuesday: 2150, Wednesday: 569, Thursday: 2669, Friday: 1374, Saturday: 250.  That’s a whopping 9193 words in a WEEK.  That’s almost more than I wrote in February and March COMBINED (during that stretch when my brain blew up), and I’m on track to beat February, March, and April for the month of May.  I think it’s safe to say I’m baaaaaaaaaaack.  WAHOO!
  6. I am at the midpoint in RedI had hoped that I’d knock that out Friday night or yesterday, but Friday I fell asleep ridiculously early (I don’t know what it is about my husband being out of the house at night, but I’m usually ready to go to sleep right after he leaves), and Saturday…well I was busy with other stuff.  So that’s today’s plan.
  7. Said other stuff included getting all three of my titles listed at All Romance Ebooks.  I don’t know at what point they started letting self publishers upload their books.  It USED to be just for publishers.  But it’s definitely another vendor worth taking advantage of if you write romance, even though their website and system is something of a pain in the tushy and NOT user friendly.  Their customer service, however, is awesome and very responsive.  I sold 6 books there just yesterday, which is pretty awesome for new uploads in less than 24 hours!
  8. Yesterday I ordered a new laptop.  There was a really kick ass one on Woot that was worth nearly twice what they were asking for it, so I decided to bite the bullet and use this month’s book profits to upgrade.  It’s tax deductible at least.  Susan thought it was a great deal too and bought the same one.  And it got hubby’s mark of approval as its specs are good enough to play Diablo 3 when it comes out.  Ah the joys of playing a good co-op hack and slash with one’s spouse.  I do miss WOW.
  9. I was going to make some homemade fettuccine alfredo today, but my tummy is a bit unhappy with me for the OD on Sour Patch Kids and nachos yesterday, so I’m thinking something a little lighter and milder in fare.  Got a bunch of menu planning, Pots and Plots post writing, laundry, and other things to catch up on today, so I guess since I’m up obscenely early, I’ll get to it.

  1. You’re doing so well with everything! I have a feeling all the exercise and losing weight is also contributing to your awesome word count. It all works together. You’re just kicking butt all around!

I really dread getting my books ready for All Romance Ebooks. I know it’s going to be a pain, but I think it will be worth it.

    1. The formatting really wasn’t the hard part. That only took about 15 minutes per book for all relevant formats. It was the site itself that kept erasing my input whenever I made some kind of mistake that was the big time suck. Worth it though.

  2. Congrats on the word count and weight loss, both are simply awesome. Nothing wrong with reshaping things, if they were perfect to begin with it wouldn’t even be a consideration.

  3. Nice word count! Three weeks ago I started Tony Horton’s 10 minute trainer. I LOVE it! Plus I do zumba 3 times a week. I was looking at my stomach and was amazed to see some shape. I think I might have a muscle or two under there!
