Location, Location

Pot is campaigning for a potential change in location of my werewolf story from Germany (which I don’t know all that much about, and which thus gives me some other detail to obsess about, much as I often to with procedural crap when writing my more traditional FBI type tales) to the States.  The logic for this is that the stuff I’ve written since I made the call to move my work to Mississippi has just been better.  For this particular book, I require snow and inclement weather, so Mississippi is out, but elsewhere in the country is still a possibility.  So we’ve been kicking around ideas this morning about how I might make that possible and how such a change would impact the story I had in mind to tell.  Mostly it’s just brought up more questions than answers and nothing is hanging together for me.   Which isn’t to say that I’m set against doing it, but I’m not sure how it would work yet.

Moving it Stateside changes the circumstances that send her searching for her missing friend.  I’ve had half a dozen ideas occur to me so far, but none of them is working for me.  So I’m not entirely sure what I’m going to do.  It’s worth exploring, as ultimately this world I’m creating ought to come back to my home stomping ground.  And moving the story Stateside makes it easier to go there in the series.  But my brain seems content to be throwing out meh ideas.  We shall see.  I’ll keep brainstorming.
