Forgive me Muse, for I have slacked. It’s been 12 days since my last new words.
Feels like an eternity.
I know nobody’s going to criticize me for that. After all, we helped move my uncle across three states last week, and I spent 3 days this week out of town, camped out at the hospital with my grandmother. The rest of the time has been spent fighting off a sinus infection, trying to get the house (which is a disaster) dealt with, laundry, and all the other assorted stuff associated with being out of town, taken care of. I caught up with almost all my evil day job work on Friday, and I’ve only got one more lecture left to write (thank GOD). I’ll be going back up to see my grandmother on Sunday. Today I just have to take for mental health. MUST GET STUFF ORGANIZED AND CAUGHT UP. And I cannot spend another night in a crappy bed. I had to get a massage yesterday to work out the kinks so I could stand up straight.
My word count for February was half that of January. The good news is that on the days I did write, I averaged 630 words. Not my goal, but still not bad. Also in the good news category is that I’m dreaming about Red again.
Now if I can just get back into a routine.
My grandmother got moved to hospice yesterday, so barring a turn for the worse, I’ll probably actually be home next week except for a day trip for work. So maybe things will be something resembling normal. I can certainly hope.
I’ve just split out the third pair of jeans since Christmas, which is both a sign of the weakness of the fabric (all from the same shopping trip) and probably the size of my butt. It has not been what you would call SHRINKING in the face of the disruptions of the last couple of months. Gotta work on that. I’m ready to get back into a workout routine and a healthy (now mostly gluten free) diet. In the meantime…work to do.
