- For not having written in a week as of the last check-in, I pulled out some words since then. 3185 to be precise. Some of it has involved rewriting, plugging in a new scene, moving some conversations around, putting in new ones. Which has led to the necessity of rewriting a little bit more. But it’s so much stronger, and I’m finally getting a clue about my heroine’s personality. So that’s a big woo.
- I’ve done a crapton of plotting and worldbuilding for the Mirus this week. I’m really excited about the potential directions it could go in. I’ve had several kernels of ideas for short stories, including one that would take place between Devil’s Eye and Mick and Sophie’s full novel. But I can’t write and release it until I’m ready to write and release their full novel because what I’d be doing to them is so evil and horrible that readers are going to accuse me of being a total sadist unless they can immediately go see how it gets fixed. Because it’s really really mean. If an author did it to a couple I loved, I’d be beyond pissed if I couldn’t see it fixed. Like yesterday. So self preservation dictates that one has to wait a while.
- It was a decent running week. I got two days of running in. Hoping for all three this coming week. Another couple of weeks and I ought to be getting back to where I was at Christmas.
- As the work drama is, I think, over, I’m making a concerted effort to get back to the calorie counting. I’ve got to get back with the program to knock off the holiday poundage. That’s easier to do when I’m not stress eating and going after ALL THE CARBS. Not that carbs are evil, but dude the cravings…I want chocolate and chocolate and BREAD. So I’m TAKING CONTROL and coming back to Operation GIT!

Great word count! And that’s really good that you’re excited about the Mirus world. There’s no telling how many books you could get out of it. 🙂
Good luck with the exercise and calorie counting. This healthy thing is hard.
Pretty good word count, for sure. Congrats!
It really is cool how rewriting can make your work stronger as well as help you get to know your characters better. A big woo to you!
Good luck with the running!
I love those times when the big wonderful ideas break over me! Enjoy!
If I could live on frozen grapes and Cascadia Farms mulit-grain squares cereal, I might. And avocadoes. And shrinp. And dark chocolate and sweet coffee….and….wait, I think I see what you mean!
Between snowsotrms and migraines, I never got to the Y this week. It’s the first week I’ve missed all year, and I am going back tomorrow.
So happy you are writing and worldbuilding. Red is slated to be my next Kindle read…when I am in a space for reading, and after I Am Not Spock….I’ve been waiting 30 years for that one!
