Home Again, Home Again

If I have to be in my car for longer than it takes me to get to our local Walmart any time soon, I may cry.  The 13 hour drive up left me with a pinched nerve. I’ve never had one before and MAN DOES IT SUCK.  Thank God the wife half of the couple friends we were visiting is a massage therapist.  She fixed me while I was there, and I just had another massage now that I’m home.  I think I’ll ultimately feel better but I hurt right now.  I’m trying to guzzle water and flush everything out.

Oktoberfest was fun, even if I was the only sober person in that region of Omaha Saturday night.  I did some shopping, FINALLY found a pair of boots that fit (the tall riding style ones that are made with the assumption that all women have toothpick legs–newsflash, we don’t), bought some new teas, made a run by Half Priced Books, and picked up some dried gourmet mushrooms for a 3 mushroom pasta dish I have planned down the road.

I got a little bit of writing done while I was away, but not much.  I don’t have high hopes of doing more than finishing the scene I am on this week, as I must play catch up now.

Thanks to R.B. Wood, Deniz Bevan, and Joely Sue Burkhart for guest blogging while I was away!  And if you needed anything from me, I’m working on wading through an inbox of epic proportions, and I hope to get to you soon.

  1. Ouch. I’m so sorry to hear about the pinched nerve. Those long car rides are murder. I have a similar chronic case and I can’t sit comfortably for more than a few minutes.

Smart thinking to get a massage.
