Midweek #ROW80 Check-In

I’ve had a slow start to my writing week.  My midpoint is a two scene sequence, and I’m done with the first half.  But I got derailed after that, not because the book isn’t going okay, but because I realized that fall semester starts on MONDAY and I hadn’t done diddly to prepare my classes.  Whoops.  So I totally fritzed out my brain blowing through set up yesterday.  One of these classes I just taught last fall, so it’s still pretty bare bones.  I’d intended to expand it this summer but there simply hasn’t been time.  So I’m trying to sort out where I can add something to each unit and at least give them SOMETHING else…

I swear, school starts earlier and earlier every year.  The grade school kids here started back LAST WEEK.

On Operation Goddess in Training, I began the whole elimination diet back in March–discovered my unfortunate dairy allergy–and have since lost eight pounds without really trying.  Of course that’s easy when the vast majority of the junk food you used to eat is dairy based (e.g. cheese and ice cream and most chocolate).  I’ve been back in taekwondo for about five weeks, and that’s going well.  My knees are FINALLY getting used to this kind of impact again–halleluia!  I’ve been on my current weight lifting routine for about eight weeks now (maybe twelve?  I can’t remember).  I’m thinking it’s about time for a few changes there.  Either way, adding 3 hours a week of intensive martial arts training is doing great things for my body.

I got the cover comp for To Get Me To You  yesterday.  It’s going to be awesome.  Not that this is a shock.  Robin always makes awesome covers.

There’s probably something else to update, but I require more caffeine to think of it.  Hoping to get some plotting done at lunch.

  1. Other than the “school starts!” glitch, it sounds like you are doing fantastic on your goals. It is great how getting in physical shape can help you in other areas of your life. Unfortunately, over the last month, I have totally let myself go! My writing goals are coming along, but the blobby body is just blobbing.

Have a great week and just keep going. Those lesson plans will fall into place.
