Fiction Friday Roundup

While I haven’t been writing as much this month as we finish out the year, I have been doing a fair bit of reading.

I went back and read Marine For Hire by Tawna Fenske.  I got into this series with the second book Fiancee For Hire and loved it, but forgot I’d bought the first one.  I love everything Tawna writes.  She’s absolutely laugh out loud hilarious and sexy.  Highly recommend this series to anybody who wants a funny, smexy read with military heroes.  The third one, Best Man For Hire is on sale for 99 cents for preorder! (comes out Monday).

I tried out Lori Wilde’s Cupid, Texas series with All Out Of Love.  I did this in audio and I think it colored my opinion of this second chance romance between a woman and her high school crush.  I liked the story okay, but the narrator really had this kind of cutesy “don’t take me seriously” tone that did not work for me.  I think I’ll try future stuff in this series in print.

I also tore through Maybe This Christmas (friends to lovers) and Suddenly Last Summer (second chance romance, sort of) by Sarah Morgan, which are the final 2 books in The O’Neil Brothers series.  I started this series last year with the first book, Sleigh Bells In The Snow and loved it.  It’s a trilogy dealing with 3 brothers who are working to save their family’s ski resort. Each brother is really different, so each of their sheroes is different.  I adore this series and cannot recommend it enough.

After that I went back to Lucky Harbor with Jill Shalvis and picked up Forever And A Day  (#6), which I nabbed on sale for $1.99 at some point this month.  It’s a sweet, fluffy read (as all of this series are) with a single dad and his adorable son and the woman who winds up falling for them both.  I also started listening to At Last (#5) in audio (yes, I’m doing a lot of reading out of order).  This particular trilogy in Lucky Harbor follows a group of Chocaholics, who I find very entertaining.

I am also currently reading Sandpiper Island, the (I think) last book in Donna Kauffman’s Bachelors of Blueberry Cove.  This is another second chance romance (I’m such a fan of those).

Ford Maddox was running from his past when he came back to Blueberry Cove, Maine, where he’d tasted both heartache and comfort. With feisty Delia O’Reilly there to cheer him on, he couldn’t have picked a better place to start over—even if he’s determined to do it alone in his island tree house, working to save endangered seabirds . . . and himself.

But when he finds Delia fighting to hold on to her local diner, and all that’s best about their little seaside town, Ford has to lend a hand. Suddenly two fiercely independent people are building something sweeter than they ever imagined . . . together.

DIY is so much better with two…

What are y’all reading?  Did you get any great books for Christmas?
