Still In Search Of Plot

Well our vacation is drawing to a close.  We catch our flight home tomorrow and kiss this lovely winter wonderland goodbye in favor of our own personal steambath (because the 80+ degrees at home in Mississippi after the 20 degrees here in Grand Lake is going to suck).   The last two days it’s been snowing and DH and I have been total bums.  We rented a bunch of movies and have been having a marathon: Enchanted, Stardust, The Invasion, Good Luck Chuck, I Am Legend, and Last Holiday.  I confess to have gotten back into World of Warcraft on this vacation.  It’s a bonding thing for DH and I, as we both like to play.  I stopped playing about a year ago (gee about the time I started making writing daily a priority).  And have I gotten anything written on this vacation?  Not much.  I’ve been slowly working my way through this love scene, which hasn’t sucked totally but has been very much like pulling teeth.  I’m still not finished with it.  I did take the time this morning to outline everything that’s been written thus far because I have got to figure out the rest of my plot.  I’ve been so mired in the relationship plot that I haven’t been spending enough time on the suspense plot.  So that’s the plan when I get home–to do some reading in my homicide investigation textbooks and thinking about that part of my plot.  Whether I will catch up in time to make my deadline on the Sweat is undetermined.  If I figure stuff out and get rolling (and stop wasting time fantasizing about marrying off my hero and heroine before the end of the book), it’s still possible.  But I’m not holding my breath.  Not that I won’t get finished…it just might not happen by the end of the Sweat.  And that’s okay.  I’ll figure it out eventually.  I just hate being off so many days.
