Naan is Indian flatbread. I don’t actually eat most Indian food (I hate curry), but I found this garlic naan in the bakery section at Walmart and immediately decided to use it as the base for pizza. They are the perfect size for personal pan, so that you don’t feel bad eating the whole thing, which is a great thing for those of us who are incapable of saying “No” when there is additional pizza present. You can load it up with any toppings you please, good for pleasing different tastes. I chose a classic pizza margherita with some fresh roma tomatoes and the first basil of the season from my garden. DELISH!
Ingredients:
- 1 piece of naan per person
- pizza sauce
- shredded mozzarella
- toppings of your choice
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Spread the pizza sauce on the naan.
- Add toppings.
- Add cheese.
- Bake for 15 minutes.

I never thought about using Naan bread as a pizza crust. I really like this idea for grilled pizza. Thanks for the idea.
I TOTALLY thought about grilling them the other night, but it was raining.
I love the Naan from Wal-mart! It’s fantastic. Haven’t used it for pizza, will have to give it a try! Thanks for the idea.
I was really surprised when I found it. I confess I am much surprised by their selection in the bakery these days.
I think nobodies probably ever cooked you a proper curry 😉 have a look at my blog…. 🙂
Well, no, it’s really that I hate the actual SPICE curry. 🙂
This is fun – my boyfriend is addicted to peswari naan…I may have to try to make a sweet version of the naan pizza! Keep writing. Johanna ( whatedatetongiht.wordpress.com )
A sweet version? Like a dessert style one? Ooo, you must share if you do. That sounds really intriguing.
